4 steps to an unforgettable wedding

It’s well known that weddings take a lot of planning. There’s so much to sort out: including the venue, the food, the entertainment, the theme – and so much else. It can be a daunting and confusing process, so sometimes it can be helpful to focus on only a few things at a time. With that in mind, here are just four steps you can take to make your wedding a truly unforgettable day for all involved.

Hire a jazz band

There’s nothing like a proper live jazz band. It will bring a touch of sophistication to your wedding party, and you’ll have everyone up on their feet and dancing in no time. You could even fully embrace the theme by dressing in 1920s-inspired clothes, and making your wedding party into a speakeasy night. Your guests will probably have gone to lots of weddings with DJs playing the same playlist of hits, so a unique jazz night is sure to stand out and make your wedding more unforgettable.

Consider a forest wedding

Why not consider a beautiful forest setting for your wedding? Picture the scene: peaceful birdsong, sunshine, and an idyllic forest meadow – your own private bubble away from the world. Having your wedding in the great outdoors is certainly not without its challenges, but with the right planning there’s no reason why it can’t be a great success. If you’re worried about the weather raining on your parade, why not include a big covered marquee? A traditional English tea party theme would perfectly complement the marquee – or, alternatively, you could go for more of a boho festival vibe instead.

Craft a menu to wow your guests

As much as everyone will enjoy the ceremony, the speeches, and the partying afterwards, weddings can be quite long – so your guests will be in need of fuel. Craft a menu that will fill everyone up, tingle their taste buds, and keep them energised late into the evening. With so many people becoming vegetarian or vegan nowadays, you’ll have to bear this in mind with your menu. There are so many meat-free alternatives out there now, so it’s easier than ever to find something that’s truly tasty and exciting. If you’re looking for menu inspiration, this is a good list to get you started.

As well as the main meal, it’s a good idea to keep snack food on hand later in the evening, too – dancing for hours is hungry work!

Relax, and have fun!

Amid all the stress and worry of planning your big day down to the finest detail, it can be easy to lose sight of what it’s all about – enjoying your day with your other half, and all of your family and friends. Although all of the above steps can certainly help, the most important step of all is to simply relax (if possible!) and not worry about your day going perfectly. In life, it’s sometimes inevitable that things don’t go entirely to plan – but that’s okay. Enjoy your day!
