Real Wedding - Summer days in Salcombe

Updated: Apr 3, 2020

When Patch and Sarah booked us to help plan their Summer Marquee wedding in Salcombe we were excited! This was going to be a fun and stylish day from start to finish.

As the couple had already decided on the site, the Mount Folly Farm overlooking the stunning Bidbury we recommended a clear hex end marquee so they could dance under the stars with open sides to make the most of that amazing view, while still having some shade! And as the day ended up being one of the hottest of the year (also Abie's birthday weekend!) we were glad we did. With the site being exposed we also decided on beautiful shepherds hut toilets so they didn't spoil the look.

With a wedding party of 150 entertainment was key. The couple really wanted to bring a bit of upbeat Irish charm to the proceedings so had a Piano man playing throughout the reception and dinner and wanted to surprise their guests so we booked the Bravo Singing Waiters to 'interrupt' the first dance and get the party started and finished with a DJ to party the night away. This was a non stop party from arrival on site and the couple really wanted to make the most of their guests travelling from afar so held the wedding on the Friday so they could extend the weekend with an after party of boat trips and BBQ's the following day.

The ceremony was held at the Salcombe Harbour hotel were we coordinated the guests onto bus's after the drinks reception. We loved the personal touches the couple added to this beach wedding from the family dog attending the ceremony, take a shot favours, the personalised t-shirts we gave the bar staff to the surf board signs the groom had designed and the same logo even being printed on the shawls for guests. They wanted a really clean light look with white and green blooms, crisp white linens and a simple but elegant decor. And as it was hot they served a seated BBQ to the tables as their main meal.

It was a really beautiful day with lots of laughter, drinking from a boot (don't ask!) dancing, happy tears and most of all was a day full of love and we had an excellent team of suppliers that made all that possible!
